Sacrament of Confirmation
SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT At a celebration on Saturday morning, November 14th at the Basilica of St. Mary the following young people from our parish community completed their initiation by receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation: Hannah Brogdon, Nicholas Lewis, Ethan Nevaleinen, Kiana Brown. We look forward to having these young people becoming more involved in the life of the parish community and will celebrate a Mass of Welcome next Sunday at 9:30 AM .
Centenary Dinner Dance, November 21st
The closing event of our year of Jubilee celebrations will be held on Saturday evening, November 21st. After the 4:30 PM Mass at St. Bridget, we will head over to the Sacred Heart Social Hall in Robbinsdale for a catered dinner and the music of a live band. Dancing is encouraged! Tickets for this event have been reduced to $20.00 per person, thanks to a successful All-School Reunion. It is the hope of the Centenary Committee that you will join us for this event that will close a wonderful year of festivities. It will give us the opportunity to come together as a parish community and celebrate our movement into the future. Tickets are available in the Parish Office and must be purchased in advance.
Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service
LOOKING AHEAD. . . The Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service will be held on Wednesday, November 25 at Salem Lutheran Church (Dupont and 42nd Avenues, North) at 6:30 PM. Please note the change in place and time. Fr. Anthony, TOR will be this year’s guest preacher and all are invited to join us as we come together with other church communities to give thanks. Thanksgiving Day Mass will be celebrated on Thanksgiving Day, November 26th, at 9:30 AM at the St. Bridget Campus. As usual, we will have the Blessing & Distribution of Bread. Plan to begin this day of thanks by joining us for the celebration of the Eucharist.
Faith Formation News
Sign up is still being taken for Sacramental preparation and Faith Formation classes for Kindergarden through 10th grade. Our First Family Faith Night will be Wednesday, December 9th. We will begin the evening with a light supper at 6:00 PM. We continue the evening with a speaker and fun for all. You are also encouraged to check out our Adult Bible Study on Wednesday nights during Faith Formation class time. RCIA is the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. If you are interested in becoming Catholic or you have not received all the Sacraments of initiation and would like information on how to move forward with the process, please give me a call. The Christmas Boutique
The Christmas Boutique will be held on Saturday, December 5th, and Sunday, December 6th in Brennan Hall, St. Austin Campus. The Arts & Crafts organization have finished and our offering an opportunity to buy raffle tickets to win two Twin Christmas themed quilts. These quilts would be great as lap quilts in the cold winter months of Minnesota! On Saturday, December 5th along with the Arts & Crafts Sale the SB-SACCW will host a Christmas Luncheon at 12:00 PM. Come for a delicious lunch, fellowship and to get a start on your Christmas shopping!
Due to a generous grant from the Catholic Community Foundation, we have been gifted with a free NET retreat, which will be held at St. Austin Campus on Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 5:00-9:00 PM. The NET Retreat will be open for students in grades 7-12 and all students are welcome to bring a friend. The retreat will be of no cost to students, but we do need to know how many will be coming so that there will be enough NET staff and provide adequate food for meal times.
