LENTEN RECONCILIATION

Our season celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation will take place at the Church of Our Lady of Victory on Wednesday, March 11th at 7:00 PM. In addition to Fr. Hayes, there will be other visiting priests available to celebrate the Sacrament with you. Seize this opportunity to become reconciled with God, others, and the Church as part of your Lenten journey.

LENTEN REGULATIONS

The Christian faithful are to do penance through prayer, fasting, abstinence and by exercising works of piety and charity. All Fridays through the year and especially during Lent are penitential.

ABSTINENCE

All who have reached their 14th birthday are to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday and on all Fridays of Lent.

FASTING

All those who are 18 or older, until their 59th birthday, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Only one full meal is allowed on days of fast. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one‟s needs: but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids are allowed. The obligation does not apply to those whose health or ability to work would be affected seriously.

HELP WANTED!!

Eucharist.jpg

We are in need of a few folks who would be willing to be trained to help distribute Holy Communion to Catholic patients at North Memorial Hospital once a month. This is an important form of outreach to people at a vulnerable time in their lives. If you’re interested, contact Sr. Gert at the Parish Office.

Catholic Eldercare

Catholic Eldercare provides the care, housing and services needed by older adults to continue living fully -- with dignity -- in an intentionally created community.

BROKEN ROSARY?

A&R.png

If you have a broken rosary that you would like repaired and returned, or rosaries that are broken and not being used, we invite you to bring them to the St. Bridget Campus and leave them on the rack by the Emerson Avenue entrance (near the baptistery). If you’d like your rosary returned to you for your own use, please leave it in an envelope with your name and address on it. Otherwise, they will be left on the rack for others to use them or take them home.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Eucharist.jpg

Eucharistic Adoration is offered each Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

As schedules and seasons change, some folks who have been committed to Eucharistic Adoration for many years find themselves needing to change their scheduled hour or withdraw from adoration on a regular basis. At the present time, we find ourselves in need of several people to cover various times between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If you are interested in spending a quiet hour in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament each Friday, please call Alice Wortman at 612-521-4005612-521-4005 or the Parish Office during regular office hours.

Unable to Attend Mass?

ANYONE who is recuperating from surgery, illness or physically unable to attend Mass should call Sister Gert so she can arrange to have someone bring you communion. Please call or have a family member call the parish office to leave a message. 612-529-7779612-529-7779 Ext. 303

BEREAVEMENT MINISTERS

estrvigl.gif

Given the number of funerals our parish community celebrates each year, there are—at any given time—members of the parish who are dealing with the loss of a loved one. Sometimes grief can cause physical, emotional, and spiritual pain and make a person feel isolated and alone. If you would like to learn the skills to walk with people through their grief, we invite you to call Sr. Gert or the Parish Office. We are presently gathering the names of interested individuals and then will set up a time for training.

SACRISTANS NEEDED

Volunteers are needed for both the St. Bridget Campus and the St. Austin Campus. When volunteers have come forward, we will schedule a training session. Please call the Parish Office during regular hours to express your interest.

Your loved one will also be listed in the bulletin for 2-3 weeks, they will continue to be remembered in prayer by our Prayer Chain Ministry, even though their names may not be listed in the bulletin.

RIDES WANTED

Some parishioners who are accustomed to walking to Mass may need a ride from one campus to another. If you are a parishioner with a van or have room in your car for one or more people, consider offering a ride to those who may need one. Call the Parish Office 612-529-7779 to let us know if you need a ride or are able to offer a ride.

PARKING AT ST. AUSTIN CAMPUS

In addition to the two small parking lots on the south side of the church, weekend Mass goers may also park in the Noble Academy parking lot. This parking lot can be accessed from Upton Avenue or through the alley between Upton and Thomas Avenues.

DO NOT PARK IN ANY WAY THAT WOULD BLOCK THE DRIVEWAY OR GARAGE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING AT THE ST. AUSTIN CAMPUS.
